The performance of metal materials can be divided into:
Mechanical properties: The resistance performance of metal materials under the action of external forces of different properties, also known as mechanical properties. Such as: elasticity, plasticity, strength, hardness, toughness, etc. The mechanical properties are stipulated in the standard. You can see the standard. There are high temperature performance and low temperature performance. The performance we usually say is normal temperature performance. Some standards have high temperature performance, everyone depends on the standard. If the client asks for performance that is not specified in the standard, don’t just agree, but ask someone, especially toughness, to do a toughness test for about 1,000 yuan.
Physical properties: such as electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, thermal expansion, melting point, magnetic properties, density, etc.
Chemical properties: such as acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance.
The above three performances are collectively referred to as usage performance.
Process performance: the performance of the material in processing and manufacturing, showing the difficulty of processing and manufacturing, such as: titanium casting, forging, weldability, cutting workability, heat treatment, etc., bending of titanium plate, titanium tube Squashing and flaring.
Some people confuse physical properties with mechanical properties, often saying that sampling is done for physical testing, but in fact it is for mechanical performance testing. His statement is wrong.
Note: Mechanical properties and physical properties are different concepts
Physical properties are inherent in itself, and generally do not need to be tested.
